Penalty: Awarded against Tony Smith for sending Andy Mutch sprawling.
Booked: Forman 43, Clarke 50.
Play-offs: Wolves missed out on automatic promotion after Southend United’s victory at Stockport County the previous night. A match that had scene a number of Wolves fans attend, in fact more than Southend.
Landmark: Hartlepool’s Andy Dixon makes League debut.
Invasion: Wolves fans invaded the pitch twice, the first occasion after Wolves third goal and the second after Wolves fourth. The referee called a halt to the match a  minute or so early after Wolves fourth goal.
Hat-trick: Not only was this Wolves first hat-trick for ten years but Steve Bull completed his hat-trick with the number two shirt on his back. Bull had had his shirt ripped of his back after his second and had to put on Steve Stout shirt who had already been substituted.
Position: 4th.
