Ashington FC

Formed in 1893 the Colliers were members of the Football League for just eight seasons, 1921 to 1929. Their highest League finish of ninth came in the Third Division (North) in both 1924 and 1926. Ashington were replaced in the League by York City having failed to gain re-election. The two sides only met twice with both games coming over the New Year period of 1924 and Wolves completing the double. The away match saw Tom Phillipson notching his first hat-trick for the club.
