Brierley Hill Alliance FC

Wolves met the sadly now defunct ‘Alliance’ on many occasions at reserve and junior team level. The first meeting came on 3 December 1892 with Wolves winning 3-2 at Brierley Hill in the Birmingham & District League. Wolves biggest win was 7-0 on 29 December 1894 and 28 December 1895. Wolves biggest defeat 9-0, came on 27 October 1951. the ‘Alliance’ won the championship of the Birmingham & District League in 1891, 1892, 1951 and 1952, the first two though were declared void because all the fixture had not been fulfilled. Possibly the most famous fixture for the Alliance came in 1955 when they met Kidderminster Harriers in the first ever FA Cup match played under floodlights. Brierley Hill Alliance went out of business in 1981.
