Burton Albion FC

The Brewers were formed in 1950 and gained Football League status in 2009 after winning the Football Conference. Wolves first meeting with Albion came in Birmingham & District League match at the Lloyds Foundry Ground on 7 October 1950 and Wolves lost 3-1. Wolves scorer was Dugmore and the team read: Lowe, Short, Gibbons, Deeley, Hewitt, Clark, Skull, Long, Dugmore, Ford and Taylor. Wolves biggest win in the Birmingham & District League came in January 1958 with a 7-2 success. Wolves goals were netted by Gerry Mannion, Harry Middleton, and Des Horne all recorded a brace, Cliff Durandt netted the other. Burton’s biggest win 8-2 came on the opening day of the 1956/57 season.
