Celtic were formed in in 1888 and were founder members of the Scottish Football League in 1890. The have many honours to the name including the 1967 European Cup. Wolves first meeting with the Scottish giants came on 17 April 1890 in a friendly in Glasgow, Celtic ran out winners 4-2. Celtic came to Molineux in October 1953. Wolves won this time thanks to brace from Dennis Wilshaw. A third fixture took place in September 1954 in an unofficial British Championship match in Glasgow and it ended in a 3-3 draw. In October 1959 Wolves again traveled to Glasgow, this time winning 2-0 thanks to strikes from Peter Broadbent and Jimmy Murray. The most recent meeting came in July 2011 and again Wolves traveled north. Wolves won again 2-0 with goals coming from Jamie O’Hara and an own goal.
