Gateshead FC

South Shields Adeleide were formed in 1889 and then dropped the Adeleide in 1910. They were members of the Football League from 1919 to 1930. The club were moved lock, stock and barrel to Gateshead in 1930 and remained in the Football League until 1960. The club folded in 1973. A new South Shield FC had been formed in the 1930s.
