Vorwarts FC

The East Germany formed Vorwarts FC in 1951 as SV Vorwärts der HVA Leipzig. In 1953 the club were moved to Berlin and renamed ZSK Vorwarts Berlin. In October 1956 they were renamed ZASK Vorwarts Berlin and in February 1957 ASK Vorwarts Berlin. In 1971 the club were again picked up and moved this time from the capital to Frankfurt an der Oder to replace the local secret police-sponsored side SG Dynamo which was then disbanded. They won the East German League on six occasions.
