Wolves have faced Belgium opposition on seven occasions, all in friendlies and have only avoided defeat once. The first meeting came in May 1938 when Wolves were beaten by an Antwerp XI to end a five match tour of Europe and in November 1949 again faced an Antwerp XI and again were beaten in Belgium. Wolves were defeated a further three times in Belgium 1957/58. In November RSC Anderlect were the victors by 2-0 and May, Wolves played in a four team Brussels Tournament. The semi-final saw Wolves lose to Beerschot before losing to Italian giants Juventus 5-1 in the third and fourth play-off to end a five match tour of Central Europe. In August 1973 Wolves this time lost in Club Bruges SV and in July 1980 Wolves lost 5-4 to AA Louvieroise. In July 2001 Wolves most recent trip to Belgium saw Wolves face Royal Antwerp FC. Wolves gained their only draw and Wolves Belgium striker Cedric Roussel scored Wolves second of a 2-2 draw. Two players, Tony Dinning and Antwerp’s Ziyati were both sent-off late in the match.
