Left-half Billy Annis joined Wolves in August 1895 and went on to make 174 appearances for the First Elevens netting just the once and 72 appearances for the Reserves netting three times. He helped the first team in to the Birmingham Cup final twice, winning the competition in 1903 and to the runners-up spot the following season. He helped the team to the 1904 Staffordshire Cup final only for the trophy to be shared for twelve months after two draws. He helped the Reserves to the Birmingham & District League runners-up spot in 1900 and to the championship twelve months later. In 1899 he helped the Reserves to the final of the Walsall Cup losing to Aston Villa and a year later to success again against Aston Villa.
