Born: Melton Mowbray, 1869.
Bailey was a trialist from Birmingham St. George in October 1991. He made just three appearances for the club with his bow coming for the Reserves at home to Shrewsbury Town in the Shropshire League. He played for the First Eleven in a friendly at home to West Bromwich Albion; a game that saw Wolves come from three goals down to draw and his last game for club was his only Football League appearances at Blackburn Rovers.
After a second spell with Leicestershire club side Melton Town, Bailey joined his brother ‘Harry’ at Leicester Fosse in March 1892. He played in four matches towards the end of there Midland League campaign before being reinstated as an amateur and re-joined Melton Town in August 1893. He made one further appearance for the ‘Fosse’ at Newark in March 1894.
Bailey went on to make a further three Football League appearances netting once for Darwen .
