Billingsley was a Aston Villa junior and a goalkeeper who guested for Wolves from March 1944. After making his debut at West Bromwich Albion conceding five he went on to make five further appearances. He then had a stint at Walsall from December 1944 making a further three appearances. His last appearance for the Fellows Park club saw him conceded five at home to Coventry City, Walsall though scored six.
