Club Finances: Wolves make a loss of £3,585 and for the first time in seventeen years recommend no dividend be paid.

Note: In March 1944 Ben Matthews resigned as Chairman due to ill heath but stayed as a director. James Baker was unanimously elected in his place and Mr RH Archer was elected a Vice Chairman.

Championships 

1) North (First Championship) Ended 25 December
2) North (Second Championship) ran from 27 December to 6 May
3) Matches between 26 December and 26 February inclusive also counted as League Cup qualifying games. Wolves failed to qualify for the competition proper.
4) Midland Cup – All clubs in in League North Cup proper exempt from Qualifying Round. Clubs still in the North Cup on 1 April will be excluded from Midland Cup. Wolves again failed to qualify.
