Were a Welsh football club founded in 1893. They joined the Football League in 1921 but were replaced by Torquay United after failing to be re-elected in 1927. The two clubs never met.

Of those who were attached to both clubs, George Getgood made five appearances in the Welsh side that failed to get re-election in 1927. Jimmy Martin spent four season with Athletic and was two scorer in his first two. He netted two hat-tricks and Queens Park Rangers and Exeter City. He also picked up a Welsh Cup runners-up medal.
