Wally Bate spent just a few months at Molineux having been signed from Scottish club Dumbarton. Wally is one of only a hand full of players to scorer in their first four appearances. Wally returned to non-league football early in 1920. Bate also scored in his last appearance for the club, for the Reserves at home to Wednesbury Old Athletic on 17 January 1920.
