Phil Bauld, born in Glasgow on 20 September 1929 was playing for Kirkintilloch Rob Roy F.C. when he joined Wolves in 1948. From Wolves he returned to Scotland to joined Clyde before joining Plymouth Argyle in June 1953. In July 1954 he signed for Aldershot where he finally made his Football League debut and then onto Tonbridge F.C.
