Hungarian opponents have met Wolves on six occasions and a tour of Europe in May 1938 kicked-off the Wolves and Hungarian meetings. Wolves gain a 0-0 draw against an Hungarian XI in the second match of the five match tour. On 13 December 1954 the famous Honved came to Molineux. The match a friendly played in front of live Television cameras saw the Honved take a two goal lead after just 14 minutes. Sandor Koscis (later to score for Barcelona against Wolves in the European Cup) netted the first and Machos netted the second following a move involving Boszik, Puskas and Kocsis. Wolves pulled a goal back through a Johnny Hancocks penalty just four minutes after the brake and Roy Swinbourne completed the comeback with two goals in the last quarter of hour. Honved returned to Molineux in December 1962 and went away with a 1-1 draw. Ten Month later Wolves travelled to Honved and this time lost despite and Ray Crawford strike. In 1972 Wolves faced Ferencvaros in the semi-final of the UEFA Cup. Wolves won 4-3 over the two legs and Phil Parkes who faced three penalties over the two games saved two.
