Referee: Mr K. Salmon (Barnet). Replaced after 25 minutes by Linesmen Mr P Stoackley (Solihull). Salmon went on to the line for the remainder of the first-half and was completely replaced at the brake.
Landmark: John Richards makes his 300th Football League appearance. Stoke’s Paul Bracewell makes his League debut.
Match build up: Before the match their was a sky diving display and Peter Daniel and Kenny Hibbitt both injured at Wembley did a lap of honour with the League Cup.
