Football League (118)- Saturday 1 April 1893 at Turf Moor (Att 3,000)
Wolves (0) 0: Rose, Baugh, Swift, H Griffiths, Allen, Kinsey, Woodhall, Wykes, Butcher, Wood, Johnston.
Burnley (0) 2 (Turnbull 75 80): Hillman, Nicol, Lang, Mullineux, Espie, Livingstone, Brady, Buchanan, Turnbull, Bowes, Hill.
Referee: Mr T Armitt (Leek).
Injury: Billy Rose was carried off after just three minutes with a broken cheek bone following a goalmouth scramble in which Dickie Baugh kicked him in the face. Harry Wood replaced him between the sticks and it is said that ‘Wood played that well, would Rose have played any better’.
Kit: Because of the similar colours of the kits, Burnley had to change; as a result the kick-off was delayed by fifteen minutes.
Position: 11th.
