Jamie Brewerton is the club captain of Bangor City and lifted the Welsh Cup for the Citizens in the 2009/10 season and also captained the club to Europa League success against Honka of Finalnd in August 2010. The imposing defender joined the Citizens in July 2008 after an eight-year spell with his hometown Rhyl. He was a product of Rhyl’s youth system and is a former Wales Under 18 International who had a trial with Wolves as a youngster. He made over 200 appearances for the Lilywhites and was a key member of the Treble Winning side in 2004 and boasts a League Champions, Welsh Cup and League Cup Winners Medal in his collection. He has played in the Champions League, UEFA Cup and Intertoto Cup for Rhyl and will be one of the few players to have played in European competition two clubs in one season, having featured for Rhyl against Bohemians in June 2008 and for Bangor against Midtjylland the following month in the UEFA Cup. He played once in the Welsh Premier for Conwy Utd in 1997/98 and missed almost the enitire 2007/08 season for Rhyl, with a serious knee injury.
