Wolves were due to meat Athletic Bilbao on 14 March 1956 but it was postponed due to the Players Union ban on Floodlight matches. Although the ban was overturned the match stayed cancelled as Stan Cullis stated it would have been a terrible inconvenience to the public to re issue the tickets.
