Baynham, Albert John

Born: Smethwick, 25 September 1875; Died 1951.

Career: Halesowen 1902, WOLVES cs 1903.

Albert Baynham joined Wolves summer of 1903. He went onto make 85 appearances netting four goals for the first team and sixteen appearances for the Reserves netting six goals.

In 1904 help the First Eleven to the final of the Birmingham Cup final only to lose to Aston Villa. They also reach the final of the Staffordshire Cup and along with the rest of the side eventually picked up a winners medal after two draws with the trophy being held jointly. Wolves’ players had to wait for their medals after losing the toss to Stoke. Baynham who left the club after Wolves relegation to the Second Division in 1906 was born in Smethwick.
