Brooks, Ernest William

Brother of Sammy, Ernest started his career in Birmingham League football, before joining Blackburn Rovers in January 1920. After just three League appearances with the Ewood Park club he joined Wolves in May 1921. He later had a spell with Brierley Hill Alliance. Brooks made 34 appearances for Wolves reserves and scored six goals in just the one season. He played in the clubs first ever game in the Central League at home to Everton on 27 August 1921 and helped the club to success in the Staffordshire Cup although Brooks himself didn’t appear in the final. He was born in Brierley Hill in 1894.
