Caddick, William ‘Bill’

Centre-half.

Born: Wellington, Shropshire, 14 March 1901; Died: Maldon, Essex, 13 June 1981.

Career: St. Lukes School, All Saints FC 1916, Third Battalion Grenadier Guards 1916 to 1919, Wellington Town 1919, WOLVES Dec 20, Wellington Town Jne 27, Stafford Rangers 1928, Brierley Hill Alliance 1931.

Following his transfer from Wellington Town, Caddick made his debut against Wellington Town for the Reserves in the Birmingham & District at Molineux on 4 December 1920. He went on to make 13 appearances the Reserves before being called up to the first to replace the injured Joe Hodnett. Caddick went on to seven season with the club and become a most reliable defender. He netted four goals in 154 appearances, suffered relegation in 1923 but helped Wolves to the Third Division (North) title in 1924.
