Den Haag FC

Now known as ADO, Den Haag were formed 1905 and have been Dutch League Champions twice in 1942 and 1943 and have won the Dutch Cup twice in 1968 and 1975. Notable players associated with Den Haag are Martin Jol who managed Tottenham Hotspur, ex-Aston Villa forward Tony Morley was their top scorer in 1987 and ex-Wolves goalkeeper Stefan Postma signed for them following his Molineux release in 2006. Wolves met Den Haag in the second round of the 1971/72 UEFA Cup. The first leg at the Zuiderparkstadion on 20 October 1971, saw Derek Dougan net for Wolves after just 61 minutes, Jim McCalliog on 67 minutes and Kenny Hibbitt five minutes later. Den Haag pulled a goal back from the penalty spot seven minutes from time following a Bernard Shaw handball. The second leg at Molineux on 3 November 1971 saw Derek Dougan again net the opener this time after just seven minutes. The second-half though was quite amazing as the Dutchmen netted a hat-trick of own-goals. The first came from Weimar after 49 minutes, Marsveld netted a second five minutes later and Van den Burch completed their unusual treble four minutes from time. The two clubs also met in the 1967 United States tournament, both teams winning one match each. Ernie Hunt and Derek Dougan were both sent off in the Los Angeles meeting.
