Lokomotive Leipzig FC

German Champions on three occasion VfB Leipzig were formed in 1896 and are one of the founder member of the German Football Association. They became Lokomotive Leipzig FC in 1966. After German reunification they managed a couple of seasons in the Bundesliga but were relegated in 1994 and a steady decline in the clubs fortune saw them relegated to the bottom tiers of German Football and go out of business due to financial problems in 2004. A new Lokomotive Leipzig FC were formed in 2004.
