Lighting: Wolves floodlights failed in the 38th minute and were out for 25 minutes. UEFA Observer Birger Fandberg, vice-president of the Swedish F.A. was so impressed with the reaction of the crowd he ordered a message of praise to be broadcast over the public address system. Afterwards Fandberg added, “I cannot speak highly enough of the behaviour of the Wolves fans”.
Added Attraction: Before the match and during the interval there was a show put on by the dogs and their handlers of RAF Newton display team.
