Build-up: Wolves had spent a few days prior to the match training at Matlock.
Finance: For financial reason’s Reading waived there write to play at home and sold the ground’s rights for this match. Wolves had been drawn away.
Management: Reading were managed by ex-Wolves star Billy Beats.
League: Reading were members of the Southern League and finished the season in last place seven points behind Croydon Common.
